Tires Kumho or Firestone

I used to commute from Ithaca to Syracuse daily in a mk5 GLI. I had studded Firestone Winterforces on steel wheels. That car was an absolute beast in the snow and regularly outperformed 4x4’s.

The Kumho's are a 200tw track focused tire that can be run on the street. The limit of grip exceeds anything the PS4S can do, I'm sure you can push the V730s to the point were you can get he tail to slide but it is going to be at a much higher speed and a harder to control.

Im on some kumhos now. They seem to be wearing really well. Got about 30 on them so far.

Daca e să nu fie ceva all season, pot să garantez pentru KUMHO ECSTA HS52, mai era și ceva variantă "Sport", dar overall am dat 800-850 de lei per 4 bucăți, 195 55 15, un tovarăș a dat vreo 1000-1200 pe ceva model sport pe 17 (cred că 205 40 17?) și chiar se țin bine. Ale lui au și lip pentru protecția jantei și se țin chiar ok. Recomand cu căldură.

Instead of mixing them look into Kumho Wintercraft Plus and get a set of 4. I just bought 215/60/16 at 100€ a tire.

Recomand kumho Solus, sunt cu 17 lei/bucată mai scumpe de 300 dar sunt bune. Fratele meu a avut pe mașina și se comportau bine pe ploaie și pe uscat iar pe zăpadă, decent.

Eu personal folosesc un set de Kumho Solus 4S HA32 all-season pe un Opel Astra. Sunt per total mulțumit dar, în cazul meu, pare că deși sunt marketate ca “all-season” ele de fapt sunt cauciucuri de iarnă. Se comportă foarte ok pe condiții de vreme rece dar se uzează mult mai repede decât mă așteptam.

The HA32 has pretty OK performance for an all-weather tire, it placed mostly in the middle of the pack in this review. Wet braking performance is a little behind the competition.

Skoda Octavia Neuwagen wurde mit kumho ausgeliefert. Der reifen ist für mich Lebensgefährlich im Nassen. Absolut 0 traktion nur am rumrutschen.

Personally I stay away from the Firestone stuff. Hard compounds that aquaplane easily and still have worse rolling resistance than the premium tyres.
