Tires Kumho or Firestone
Swapped the 21’s and summer tires off my summit reserve for 18” XDs and Kumho Venture with a 3 peak mountain snowflake rating. Had 10” of snow and didn’t bat an eye in snow mode.
I had a set of Indy500; they performed well for a UHP for the price, but definitely noticeable difference with the set of Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02s that replaced them.
Kumho - superior value and great handling.
General G-Max RS or Firestone Indy 500s are solid options aswell with good grip and way friendlier pricing. I ran Indy 500s on my old Camaro and they felt great in normal driving without being loud or sketchy in the rain.
Cooper and Firestone make decent tires if you don't plan on tracking it.
Kumho ecsta sport S. Huge improvement
On my last car Michelin Pilot Sport 4S lasted ~20k but that's kind of expected due to how soft they are. On my current I have Kumho Ecsta Sport and they have lasted about the same but instead of wear being the issue they're cracking/tearing.
On my current car I drove kumho tires in the summer and they are pretty decent. Not the best I had but still pretty good.
I went to them for new tires on my Hyundai, my car had 96k on the originals, the wear was even and they still had decent tread. Guess what, they said I needed alignment.
I had the Firestone AT years ago on a Ranger. Complete trash! Didn’t last for shit & barely any off-road traction.
