Giti Tires

We just wrapped up our tire test showdown as we put six leading touring tires to the ultimate performance test across all conditions.

Wondering how tires like Giti Control P10, Michelin Primacy 4 ST, and others performed on a BMW F30.

Pros: performance test across conditions
Vehicle: BMW

Kenda Klever A/T2 KR628. I've had them on my R50 for the past year. About 10K miles so far. Solid overall and reasonably priced.

Pros: solid overall, reasonably priced

I’ve got the Giti tires that were “developed” with VW and I’ve gotten over 60k with mine. Granted they are about to the wear bars now and need replacing.

Pros: high mileage
Cons: nearing wear bars
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 60000 km

Currently running Kenda Klevar RTs and I think they are my favorite to date, super quiet on road, just did elko to Austin via the BDR, no issues in mud, they were so comfortable on the trail today that I never stopped to air down, great in the rain, got mixed up in the crazy rain in Utah Sunday and no issues. I’m also partial to the kendas because they offer 35x10.5s

Pros: favorite to date, super quiet, no issues in mud, comfortable on trail, great in rain

KENDA Tires

Cheap Kenda tires will be heavy and not made terribly well. Not to the point of being unsafe, but there is a noticeable difference in performance between a cheap Kenda tire and something like a Continental race king or Vittoria mezcal.

Cons: heavy, not made well

So here is an update on the Kenda klever RT. Smooth rolling down highway speeds. Compared to MT’s they are pretty quiet wind noise drowns out the sound for the most part. Rainy weather they handle pretty good. Didn’t effect gas mileage none dash still says 19-20mpg. Snow handling……….it’s a 50/50 on that. I feel as if they are a bit looser then others I’ve ran but hold their own.

Pros: smooth rolling, quiet
Cons: looser in snow

On my '16 RT, the dealer installed a new set of Kenda KM1 sport touring tires when they prepped it to sell. I've put a couple hundred miles on the tires now, and I'm not crazy about them. Above 55mph, the entire bike feels like it's "squirming" slightly. You can feel a little instability in your hands, almost like you're riding on a highway with rain grooves.

Cons: squirming feeling, instability
