I have been running snows for over 30 years and the only ones I have ever had that are the quietest, are the Nokian Rotiiva AT. Not perfect, but leaps and bounds better than everything else I have run.
I have only used the Nokian's on that list.
I have Nokian Hakkapeliitta studded tires for my VR6 CC here in Alaska. They’re expensive but they make driving an absolute dream during the long winters.
Highly recommend Nokian all weather tires.
Honestly the Nokian WRG4 is a fantastic all weather tire. I feel like you either put the tire through some rough terrain that it's not meant for. Or you legitimately got a bad batch of tires.
Go with Nokian Hakks.
I run studded Hakks on two of my cars, best winter tires I've ever had.
Hankook Ventus Noble 2. Good W-rated tires, high skid plate rating, wears well if run a few pounds hot.
My best experiences have been with Hankook I-pike studless snows. I'd be willing to bet that they could hang with or out perform some of the pricier options listed here. They are great when roads are wet too.
I had the Hankook Ventus V12s are a different car. Here are my thoughts:
Decent grip, soft sidewall, narrower tire for its size.
I never realized how bad the Kinergy GT's were until I got some Continental DWS06's. They really are a terrible tire OP, definitely worth replacing altogether
