Best bang for the buck, Hankook W300 for me.

I have Hankook Ice Bear W300's on the Mazdaspeed 3 and I like them a lot. I actually first used them on the Miata. Not the most extreme winter tire but NJ has very mild winters and they behave a lot like an all season in the dry which is perfect for me.

I've run a couple of sets of Hankook Ice Bears: 225/40/18's on the stock MS3 wheels - My primary winter setup. The car performed wonderfully. Aside from being a plow at some points (my car is lowered), the traction control + LSD + snow tires made for a flawless snow driver.

Nitto Neo Gen tire received second place overall with the editors commenting that the Nitto Neo Gen had basically tied with first place. All tires in the test were sized 225/40R18. All tires were tested using an Audi A3 3.2 on a closed test course. The Neo Gen received a ranking of Very Good in both dry and wet braking and Good in both dry and wet handling and hydroplaning. The Neo Gen also received high marks for noise, ride comfort and rolling resistance, scoring Very Good for all categories. The Neo Gen was also one of the most affordable tires tested. Because of the Neo Gen's balance of dry and wet performance, and ride comfort, the editors recommended it as one of their top picks.

I have this tire from discount and so far I've been really impressed. Good ride, quiet, and its done everything I've asked performance wise.

I have Nitto 555's and I love them. Best tires I've ever owned.

i had some nt555 on my last car....... great tire....... but horrible wet traction

It's the tires...... My car came with the Hankook's and they are noisy lil bastards....
