I have a set of the Ventus V12 Evos on my R53, and they see auto-x and daily driving. I think they are great tires for the money, they are quiet, precise, and have some pretty incredible grip.

Pros: quiet, precise, incredible grip
Cons: showing some wear
Vehicle: MINI
Mileage: 15000 km

Hankook Tires

I'm running the V12's and find them pretty good for track/auto x duties. They especially shine in the wet. I find that I need to run them at a higher psi (around 38-40) to compensate for the 'sidewall issue' though.

Pros: good for track duties, shine in the wet
Cons: sidewall issue

So my Bridgestone Potenzas got slicked out (lasted 23k km) and a friend reccomended and got me a set of 225-45-XR17 Hankook RS-3 Tires... This hankook tires are rated as Semi-Slicks, and by how they perform, i agree with that... First impressions (compared with Bridgestone Potenzas 225-45-r17): Awesome handling capabilities the car feels so much more responsive and precise in both dry and wet conditions Great Braking You can feel the car generating more negative G force when you slam the brakes Really Confortable to ride and noise levels are low, plus they have a more Solid Feel in the pavement imperfections Overall Conclusions: Way Better Than Bridgestone Potenzas (same sizes and everything) and by far more affordable Definetly the tire to go with in summer conditions

Pros: Awesome handling capabilities, great braking
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 23000 km

I had the dealer swap the Hankooks that were on our new B7 to Conti ProContacts which were on a another B7 in the lot. We have about 1500 miles on car and I can honestly say the car rides quiet.....no more road noise than the B6, and no wind noise.

Pros: rides quiet, no noise
Mileage: 1500 km

NITTO Tires

After reading some reviews and looking at pictures of stretched tires in different sizes, I purchased four Nitto Neo Gens in 205/45/ZR17.

NITTO Tires

I threw on my 4th set of Nitto Gens... Ugh, I love these thangs... Ran 25k with -3.5deg camber and had nothing but even wear on the tires. Hence why I bought another set.

Pros: even wear on tires
Mileage: 40233 km

Hankook Tires

The cheapest ones I would consider were the Hankook Ventus V-12's at $199 each, many others are closer to $400 a piece including the OEM Toyo's.

Pros: cheapest ones
Cons: replacement tires price
Vehicle: Porsche

Hankook Tires

I 100% disagree with the Hankook Ventus Line. A directional summer tire? Absolutely pointless. AND a semi-slick? It doesn't make sense. They have water diversion channels. As the front of the water channel encounters the water, it shoots out the side in such a way that the tire is allowed to keep maximum efficiency. But what's the point of that on a summer tire? Hankook has taken a hit in their R&D department, their rep who brought us the RS-3 about 2 months ago said that they used the same radial belt design, while only changing the dynamics of the road encounter.

Cons: pointless directional summer tire
