Tires Hankook or NITTO

Hankook Tires

Just got these for my commuter and love them. I know of others that purchased them and were really happy plus the rebate they have.

Pros: loved them, happy with purchase

Just installed Motivo's on wife's 2006 S4. Really like the tires. Tires are quiet, have excellent wet weather grip and seem resistant to hydroplaning. Also the tires do not follow road seams/grooves. Thinking about putting Motivo's on my 2013 GTI.

Pros: quiet, excellent wet grip
Cons: resistant to hydroplaning
Vehicle: Audi S4

Neogens are good tires for the money. Exceptionally quiet, sticky & easy to stretch. I had no problem with a 215 on a 9'" wheel.

Pros: quiet, sticky, easy stretch

I can say that the nitto motivo doesn't suck. Tires for my wrx are always listed as 'ultra high performance' and rarely do much more than 30k miles. These are listed as 60K tires, they perform better than both bridgestone potenza (summer) and nitto's neogens

Pros: perform better than others
Cons: listed as ultra performance
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 30000 km

Hankook Tires

I will say that the Hankook iPike W409 is a great tire. They're very similar to the old Nokian RSi tire, which is a good thing. I'm on my third set of them, studded this time. They'll go through anything.

Pros: great tire, goes through anything

I used these tires / steel wheels on my 2008 Jetta for one winter. If you've never used winter tires you need to try it. All wheel drive is nice to get moving but they can't help you turn or stop. Winter tires do everything better - more grip for turning, stopping, and starting. The winter rubber compound and tread gives much better grip in all cold weather conditions - dry, wet, sleet, slush, or snow.

Pros: better grip, cold weather

I have Ventus V12 Evos in 205/40/17 on my MX-5 and I really like them. As as street tire/occasional autocross tire they have not let me down. I've run them to temps as low as the low 40's Fahrenheit and have been pleased with their performance.

Pros: good street tire, autocross tire
Vehicle: Mazda

My Fox had 185/60/14's when I bought it new. I've ran this size for may years mostly in Pirelli and Yokohama's. They seem to be about just right. I did try 195/60/14 but I got a wheel rub in the rear when I hit hard bumps. Now I had some NITTO - NT01 Ultra HP that were 205/55/14. I really like the way these tires looked on the Fox , they are only + 0.07 difference in Side Wall height compared to the 185/60/14. What I liked was the width of the tire is 8.07" wide -vs- 7.28" wide. The only Cons about these tires is that they are very soft. So you are lucky if you get 30,000 miles out of them.

Pros: good look, wide width
Cons: very soft, low mileage
Mileage: 30000 km
