I whole-heartedly recommend the Nexen N5000 Platinums... They are not the best tires out there by any means, but punch way above their price category in quality.

Pros: good quality for price
Cons: not the best tires

Their tires do tend to ride a little soft, like you say... but that doesn't seem to affect handling at all. They are not the best tire, they are a good tire, but they are a better tire than the price you pay for them.

Pros: good tire for price
Cons: ride a little soft

Compared to all previous sets they a very quiet and drive very smooth, they feel kind of spongy if that makes any sense.

Pros: very quiet, drive smooth
Cons: feel kind of spongy

Hankook Tires

I bought Hankook I*cept 3 winters and they were cheaper than some others in my size, still expensive but rated way higher than the rest. God damn they’re incredible. My 340i X-drive only slips when I want it to, even here in Alberta, Canada where we get loads of black ice and also tons of slushy days.

Pros: incredible, rated way higher
Vehicle: BMW

I actually like the Hankook ion as so far, quiet 10% more range, and comfortable vs Conti and seem to handle well.

Pros: quiet, more range, comfortable

But my go to tire in this space is Nexen... Nexen N5000 Platinum should be under $600 out the door with mount, balance, and taxes, a solid 70k mile all-season tire.

Pros: solid all-season tire

Hankook Tires

I feel that the Kinergy GT tires are mediocre at best for most conditions. Had them on our 2017 and they still had at least 4-5 32nds of tread when we turned in the lease at 38,000 miles, but at least 10k of those miles were with snow tires. I think 35-40k would be the max upper range and probably hitting the wear bars by then.

Pros: decent tread life
Cons: mediocre in most conditions
Mileage: 38000 km

Hankook Tires

Driving reaffirmed my decision to ditch these lazy tires. They only grab the road when they feel like it. They are a medicinal marijuana user making your bowl at Chipotle: doing a little work, spacing, doing a little more. I'll grab the road now, take a break, then grab again -- all while you're going around a single curve on a down hill slope.

Cons: lazy tires, inconsistent grip
Mileage: 15000 km

I found the kinergy GT Tires that came with my 18 to be lack luster. Torwards the end of the life of the tires I thought they were junk. They were comfortable up until 30k miles. They wore down quick for me. 38k miles and they were at 2/32 left.

Pros: comfortable up until 30k
Cons: wore down quick
Mileage: 38000 km
