Tires Hankook or BRIDGESTONE

Hankook Tires

I ended up buying hankook i-cept evo'2s for my winter wheels this year (they have the highest speed rating out of all the tires on simple tire.com) they are affordable and honestly I'm really impressed with them so far this winter.

Pros: affordable, really impressed

If you are looking for a pure track tire, have you looked at something like the Hankook RS4? Those seem to be very popular track tires and last well based on what I have seen.

Pros: popular track tires, last well

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Couldn't agree more, just swapped to my Blizzaks for the winter, just another thing to not worry about. Got early snow/slush over the weekend, and it drives just fine in that slop. And when the snow gets deep (rarely), no problem:

Pros: drives fine in slop

BRIDGESTONE Tires

I had the Bridgestone 970ASes. They have incredible consistency which is the huge plus over a straight summer needing warmup before it really sticks. Wet grip is almost the same as dry. They were the best tires I had on my caravan and golf, you can get by a winter with them if you don't have a second set of wheels.

Pros: incredible consistency, good wet grip, good for winter

After i got a bit of use out of them i got a set of bridgestones. I cant remember what ones exactly but they really didn't cost all that more than the cheapest tires i could find. The difference was night and day. Car was much quieter at motorway speeds, felt a lot more planted to the road and more importantly felt much less skiddish in the rain. Made the car feel completely different.

Pros: quieter, more planted
Cons: skiddish in rain

My 2017 Beetle S came with the tires specified immediately below...Hankook Kinergy GT...Originally, tire wear appeared to be proceeding well...After the 16,000 mile service...I noticed the centers of two tires...to have lost the siping \u2013 classic over-inflation indicator...Recently at 19,000 miles I noted the front tires...had lost the center siping \u2013 again signifying over-inflation...I am not particularly surprised at the center wear as I think a load index of 95 is fairly high for this vehicle...I cannot imagine 60,000 miles for these tires.

Pros: maintaining balance
Cons: center wear, lost siping
Mileage: 19000 km

I just turned 500 miles on the Bridgestone Potenza RE97AS that came on my SE. While they are far from the worst tire, I can't help but feel that it's a terrible match for the GTI. Even with the traction control, it's struggling to get any kind of grip off the line, and I'm talking like quarter throttle. On a brighter note, they don't squeal much around turns and are relatively quiet.

Pros: relatively quiet
Cons: poor grip off the line
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 500 km
