You didn’t give wheel specs so i’ll say my setup: Falken Azenis 245,40,r15. absolute monsters, look amazing and grip for days
Falken Wildpeak AT3W. well regarded as an amazing road tyre but decently capable off road too, do some research on them, you can’t go wrong
As others have said - RT660. Federals and RT615 both not good autocross tires. RT615 more of an endurance compound, Federals just generally a budget tire. RT660 is the real deal and can actually be competitive.
Falken Azenis 660s, stupid amount of grip and do pretty decent in wet situations. These are my "track" tires and I've ran in both situations with tons of predictable situations nothing I couldn't correct. Love em
Falken has done well by me. Not the smoothest ride imho but good grip and stability.
Since the last road rally I've changed out the OEM Firestones for OEM sized Wildpeaks. With the OEM tires I basically had to do the whole event in 4Hi. I've got so much more traction now that I was able to do all of yesterdays event in 2WD with Trac Off.
I tried the Pirellis on Saturday and was sliding around a bit. Used the Falkens on Sunday and once I got the pressures right, I had good grip with no understeer or oversteer.
Put 215/65/16 Wildpeak Trails on my 2007 x2.5 last week and have similar sentiments as you. Big slower off the line and a bit stiffer but overall really happy so far. Got to hit a long gravel road out hiking this past weekend and the ride felt great. My old michellins would have me fishtailing on a corner over 50km/h, was able to take same corners at 80km/h with confidence.
I run 235/35/19 on a 19x8.5 up front. Koni coils, occasionally rubs on hard cornering or uneven pavement, but I'm pretty low so... Falken 452's
I hated the falkens I had on my GLI when I sold it, they did everything in a mediocre fashion but cost considerably less than the Goodyear f1 gsd3's and BFG KDW2's I had prior.
