Tires Falken or Continental

Wheel: Long Beaches Front: 17 x 7 et 18 215/45 falken 912 Rear: 17 x 7 et18 215/45 falken 912

18x8.5 et 15 with 215/40 falken 512 18x10 et 30 with 235/40 falken 512

Front: 18x8.5 et20 215/40/18 Falken 512 Rear: 18x9.5 et35 225/40/18 Falken 512

I had 225-40-18 912's on 18x8 and I loved the gentle curve I had, But I didnt keep those wheels for long so I cant talk about tire wear but they gripped reallly well.

This is what a 225/40/18 on a 18x10 falken 912 looks like (my car) The 512's kind of sink in more at the sidewall area as opposed to the 912's just kind of gently curving up. I would personally ruin 452's over 912's any day... I've run all three..

I just bought some Falken Sincera SN211's for my 03 VUE for $450 installed. 80K Warranty. Pretty good if you don't need performance tires.

When I first had mine, I used to run 38psi all around but after a few thousand KMs I found them to ride too hard so I lowered mine to 36psi but was slightly better. But lately, i've been running them at 35psi all around and I find that this is the right balance for comfort and sportiness. I think 35-38psi is a good pressure. Anything higher seems to be over inflated in my opinion. These tires are far better than my experience with Falken's FK452s. Those tires were just noisy as they wore. I also found them to be stiffer on the widewalls in comparison to the conti's.

I find that I do notice that cornering gets more "spongy" on any of the Contis I have had below about 36-38 psi. The factory recommendation is a compromise with soft ride / comfort. To get better handling and mileage you can go way above 38 psi before the inside wears out faster - something like >45 psi, perhaps. I run my TDI at 40 psi, and the outside edges still wear out quickly (from the many corners in the hills, here). And yes, the Contis IMO do like to be inflated.

I went with the Conti's and couldn't be happier!

I ran a set of the Falkens on my last Jetta. I drive aggressively and I ate them up faster than they spun. I believe they were the ZE 912s. The hydroplaning resistance wasn't as great for me and I could break them out of traction without too much effort.
