Tires Falken or BFGoodrich

Falken Tires

Do not only trust 3 peak rating. It is the bare minimum, and simply has to perform 10% better in acceleration than a control all season. So don’t just go for any cheap tire that has it, do some research. I use falken all terrains and they work real well.

Pros: works real well
Cons: bare minimum

I have the Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws on my 2019 TRD OffRoad in 265/75r16 and I’ve been very impressed, but I live in the south and can’t speak to their snow capabilities! I’ve also had and really like the Toyo Open Country ATIIIs and I’d recommend those too, but I like the Wildpeaks better!

Pros: very impressed
Cons: none
Vehicle: Toyota

FWIW I have the E version of the KO3’s on both my Tacoma and 4Runner. You won’t regret going with them. I live in Maine and so far they’ve handled back country roads, rain, snow, and pavement like a champ.

Pros: handled well
Vehicle: Toyota

BFGoodrich Tires

Just drove through a massive storm in Lake Tahoe, CA (specifically Highway 88). I slapped a set of BFG Trail-Terrain T/A 3PMSF onto my 2019 Tacoma TRD Off-Road and they charged with great grip.

Pros: great grip
Vehicle: Toyota

I have had 2 sets of Duratracs and 1 set of Wildpeaks. Wildpeaks are awesome, quiet tires. The Duratracs last way longer and are better for mud and off road but will be a little louder.

Pros: awesome, quiet tires
Cons: louder
Vehicle: Subaru

This is going to sound crazy….but I have a pair of KO2s that have lasted 8 years on my 08 Tacoma and about 110,000 miles. I think it’s because they were E-load rated so the ride was also rough. Currently they are suffering from the rubber actually rotting rather than the tread wearing. IMO KO2s are a great choice.

Pros: great choice
Cons: ride was rough
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 177027 km

Those Falkens are dearly loved by this community. I had a set and just didn’t like them. They were noisy. They had a tendency to flat spot if the truck sat for a day or two, that would take several miles to warm up and sort itself out. They were really awesome in the snow and what little off roading I did.

Pros: awesome in the snow
Cons: noisy, flat spot tendency

KO3’s suck these days. Go with the Falken Wildpeak AT4’s or the Toyo Open Country AT3 is better in the snow from what I’ve experienced.

Pros: better in the snow
Cons: KO3’s suck

I got the falkens from discount tire. They were a good price but I don't think I would get them again. All else being equal they don't track as well as the Yokohama I had.

Pros: good price
Cons: don't track well
