I rode with q4's in the rain yesterday and alittle today. Did well on the track for B group.
I can’t speak for the pirelli, but the Q4’s offer lots of grip until you get to a good racing pace. After that you need slicks.
I went from Q3+ to Q4 for similar reasons. Instantly a success.
Continental 860+ I think has been the best reviewed winter tire in EU for several years now. I drive Dunlop, because the Continentals were out of stock.
I now have ZIIIs on my Miata and have been enjoying them. I’m not super picky and they were cheap but the grip is astonishing. Road noise is probably average.
I just had a set of Direzza ZIIIs on my AP2, and switched them out about three weeks ago. I’d put the overall grip from the ZIII slightly higher than as the Falken Azenis RT615 K+ I ran before I switched to the Dunlop. They talk more than the Falkens at the limit, meaning if you like to kick the tail out, they scream like a banshee. They’re a responsive tire, with a stiff sidewall and chunky tread blocks. The tire has a very solid feeling, and doesn’t feel like it deforms a whole lot as you load it up.
Have Dunlop Sig HP 235/45r17 on my Volt. Not a bad tire. Grip is much higher than the stockers of course. Weird thing though, around 2 different off ramps at a similar speed to the stock tires, the ESP light comes on. I know it is getting light on the back inside tire, but I am coasting, not braking. Though, not sure how the regen works with the rear tires. So maybe the car is braking the back tires at the same amount as the regen is braking the front axle? Either way, never got an ESP light on any cornering with stock tires, and get it occasionally with the new ones. Slight slight bit of howl, but coming from the crap hypermile OE tires, everything is going to be louder. For the price I paid, I will not complain a bit.
they’re loud. I only put on 5k miles on them but have a second set that I wrapped with Bridgestones RE71RS on 235/40/18.
I have the same tires on my 22 SE and they suck lol. Mine has the same issue with little pebbles stuck in the treads.
First came with Michelin tires, had no complaints about them, second came with Dunlop's and they are trash. The tires are loud, and pick up rocks and small pebbles on the outer and inner edges of the tires, that don't fly out while driving. Tires have less than 15k km on them. It's caused some vibration and I've had to manually take them out from time to time.
