As for my Arteon I bought these 6 months ago and I absolutely love them. They're made in Norway and are all season but they're also severe snow rated and I can confirm they perform way better than most all seasons in the snow. Super quiet grand touring tire.

Pros: Super quiet, better snow performance

We put the Viking Contact 7's on our 2021 Golf. My 2019 Golf R has Nokian Haka R2's. Winter performance for the two tires is basically indistinquishable to me, which is very high praise as the Nokians have long been considered the best winter tire money can buy. The fact that the VC's are so much cheaper means that if I had to buy new winter tires right now for the R I would for sure get the VC's. Can't go wrong with them.

Pros: indistinguishable winter performance, cheaper price

Had a DWS06, which I wore off.

Bought DWS06+, still riding those.

Excellent snow, ice and wet weather traction. Never had issues!

Pros: excellent traction, no issues

I'm very happy with mine too. Many years with Blizzaks and I think these are better for road nose, just as good in the snow.

Pros: better road noise, good in snow

I'm running VikingContact7 on the wife's Passat, and I have Hakkapeliitta R3 on my Alltrack. I figure when the R3 get replaced next fall VikingContact7 will replace them. They are excellent on snow and ice and very quiet. I've driven thru stuff on them that after I get thru I realize I probably should have been more careful, but didn't notice a thing a the time. I don't do that with the Hakkapeliittas.

Pros: excellent on snow and ice, very quiet

I'm running the Conti VIkingContact7s. I had them on my 2019 and the dealership transferred them over to the new car for me since they're the same size. I've been very happy with them over the past two winters. They will definitely give up some dry weather handling to something like a PA4, but they're excellent on snow and ice. They're also reasonably quiet for a winter tire as well.

Pros: excellent on snow and ice, reasonably quiet
Cons: gives up dry handling

I did switch out the stock rubber to DWS06 @ the 12k mark and lost a little on the responsiveness on the onset. Now, as the tires have warn, it has gotten a little better, but still not as nice as the stock rubber. Hope this helps.

Cons: lost responsiveness on onset
Mileage: 12000 km

I run Conti DWSes on my A3 and I think they're abysmal with anything more than an inch of slush on the roads. More than that, once the temps get below 40 I can definitely sense them losing their grip. I haven't been overly thrilled with the Contis and don't think I'll buy them again.

Cons: losing their grip, abysmal
