Tires Continental or DUNLOP

I have Conti Viking Contacts on at the moment. The contis are very quiet.

I specifically asked for the Continental VikingContact 8 on steel rims as the Contis have shown to be almost identical as the Nokian on snow and ice, but much better on cold dry roads and in rain. They also have better fuel economy and wear.

I lived in Chicago and had a summer/all season rotation on my tuned M240i, RWD. Never had any issues on my Continental DWS06 in winter once the roads were treated. They handled snow fine as any RWD, 400hp car should.

I did upgrade the tires to a quieter Continentals, from the standard issue goodyear. Its quiet, smooth, comfortable on the 4800 mile trip I took.

I've run the DWS06 all seasons in winter with no problems.

DWS06+ is a great choice for A/S IMO. I think I prefer them over actual summers as a daily tire for summer as well: better tread life, better ride, nicely communicative, & plenty of grip for open road endeavors IME.

I purchased a set of 'Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus) tires for my 2015 KIA K900 from Discount Tire back in Jan, 2022. Yesterday, had a nail in a tire and took it there for them to fix. My buddy had a set of them a long time ago, lasted forever but zero grip, like ice skating in the rain.

My buddy only got 1300 out of the rear on his R1200rs with the Conti-motions.
