Tires Continental or BRIDGESTONE

Continental Tires

The DWS are great tires. I honestly had no problems in my girlfriend's Subaru with the stock bridgestone "no-seasons" until I bogged it in about 10" of fresh snow in the middle of the night (up to the doors), with the tires at the wear bars. I was impressed. The DWS are even better.

Pros: great tires, even better
Cons: none

Agree with the Conti DWS. My son lives in Colorado and regularly heads to the mountains to ski. The DWS worked fine for him in his 2011 WRX.

Pros: worked fine
Cons: none
Vehicle: Subaru

I put the Potenza RE 760 Sport (non all season tire) and I love its performance in wet and dry. It amazed me with the amount of cornering grip. Also, not noisy, and seems to be wearing very well.

Pros: good performance, amazing cornering grip
Cons: non all season tire

I can recommend the tires that I use and have been happy with for a while now, the Continental DWS. It's the best all season tire I've used so far, and the one that has work best in the snow

Pros: best all season tire
Cons: none
Vehicle: Acura MDX

you don't need studs, continental extreme contact dws are the best tires for chasing snow around colorado in an awd car.

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Blizzaks or x-ice 2 are the way to go IMO. They will wear faster but provide superior performance compared to a cheaper studded tire.

Pros: superior performance
Cons: wear faster

I have bridgestone winterforce. I like them. They may be a bit aggressive and therefor a little more noisy then other winter tires. But depending on how deep of snow you drive in it makes a difference. Some other winter tires are geared for better on road winter performance. But overall I like them and I have definitely taken them in deep snow on unplowed dirt roads.

Pros: good in deep snow
Cons: a little noisy

I have the RSe05 (17x8) with Bridgestone Potenza RE-11A 235/45R17 and I noticed I have slight chunking of the blocks on the outer shoulder after one heavy track weekend at Barber Motorsports Park.

Pros: slight chunking of blocks
Cons: outer shoulder overheating

BRIDGESTONE Tires

I have the Bridgestone Potenza's that came with my car. I complained about road noise at 5000 miles and VW said "all the GTI's are like that". Then it got louder. So now the car has 16,000 miles on it. It sounds like a 747 is approaching the runway. I will NEVER purchase a Bridgestone product in the future. Anyone else have issues with the Bridgestone Potenza

Pros: good performance
Cons: excessive road noise, uneven wear
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 16000 km
