Timing belt AISIN or Gates
I’ve used dozens of the Aisin TKH002 kits- they come with koyo bearings, a decent tensioner, and a Mitsuboshi timing belt, all very similar to the oem Honda parts. I think the only major difference is the Honda water pumps are usually made by Yamada and the aisin ones are made by aisin… I can’t say I’ve ever had failures with them
Aisin timing belt kit is a few hundred bucks and very nice quality parts.
I bought the Gates kits (£180 total) and decided to do my first timing belt and aux belt. Done over a thousand miles on it since and all great 🙌 hope you enjoy your new car
I can honesty just say I’ve had an Aisin, Mitsuboshi, and a Gates, plus original OEM by this point in the cars life. They’ve all lasted the 9yr or 90k mark without fault.
have it on my civic for a year now no problems.
Just did my timing belt. Get the Aisin it’s only like $107 on rockauto.
aisin is the best! it’s got everything you need and it’s not extremely expensive. took my personal mechanic 4-5 days to fix it up, but he also had to work on other cars. aisin is always going to be dayco when it comes to timing because it’s the exact match from the stock one when the car was made
Gates lasted 50k miles …. Aisin or OEM seem to go longer
The timing belt failed kindly early 65k later, so could have been bogus Aisin parts.
One this I did notice. Your belt is a gates t240, when I bought my truck the previous owner had that belt, and I found issues with it. The proper belt for mine is a gates T154. 154 being for 92 and earlier and 240 for 93 and up.
