Got mine replaced on my 23’ Civic Sport. They replaced the steering rack and we are good so far. Was the sticking an issue? Yes, because it noticeable and it can be very annoying. For a less experienced driver it can lead to an accident if not too careful or if you pull on it with more strength than needed.
My rack came furnished with new tie rod inner and outer ends(Affects steering accuracy and tigheness) and boots installed, OEM, ready to go.
Dealership replaced electronic steering rack under warranty and issue fixed.
I've recently had my 11th Gen sport go in again after experiencing sticky steering. The first time was right around 3k miles, and this most recent time was 13k. While I can express that the problem has been resolved for the most part, it makes me question whether or not it will be covered under warranty after the 30k guarantee. Only time will tell if that's the last time this issue will come again.
Had my steering rack replaced after getting into an accident, the new steering rack is having this issue.
I have a 2016 civic, got it in 2019 with 35k miles. Didn’t notice any issues until a couple years ago. I have about 80k miles now. The sticky steering has slowly gotten worse, and is worse with warmer weather. I think it is partly electrical. 2 years ago my car battery died and I replaced it, then all of a sudden the sticky steering immediately improved. And I realized that my wheel was actually sticky before. I wasn’t sure if I had imagined that my steering was off until I replaced the battery and it became so smooth. Well that didn’t last. It has since gotten worse again. It is a constant battle when I am driving and I fear people think I’m drunk because I’m constantly having to adjust to keep the car as straight as I can. And it’s scary when I turn on a slow speed and have to accelerate onto the interstate. I feel like it tries to go a different way.
This is happening on my 11th gen si.
I just got my recall done about two weeks ago but the problem is back for me.
I’m having same issue here. Mine started 20k miles and currently on 22.5k. Minor correction is always needed on freeway/highway above 35+ mph. Went to two different service center and both told me everything is fine.
One thing that tech did for me was reset steering sensor and it was fine for few days and came back.
I don’t know what outcome will I get but going to reach out to Honda of America.
I’m having the same problem too. They told me everything was good with my car, I’m just like it doesn’t feel good so we went for a drive and he states he didn’t feel it and that’s how the car drives. I’ve been driving for 20 yrs and definitely know that is not how a car is supposed to drive!
I went to a different service center and they found the issues but now the part is in back order and they don’t know how long it’ll take. This is the worst experience I’ve had with a car. I used to drive Ford and wish I would have stayed, I never had any issues
