The '05 Honda CR-V that was $1,200 because it hadn't run in 3-1/2yrs due to needing a $16 brush kit in the starter?
Stop putting aftermarket starters in. Get one from Honda. Not other way to stop the issue.
Starter mine did the same thing, replaced starter and moved flywheel one bolt according to tsb from honda.
My original starter lasted 9 years / 215k miles on the dot. I ended up finding a brand new OEM Honda starter on eBay for $238 shipped.
I would recommend a Honda genuine remanufactured starter. 3year/36k mile warranty and it's a genuine Honda part so it will work.
My last CRV lasted 17 years and 197,000 miles on basic maintenance alone - oil, tires, brakes, and a starter.
Yes that is a bad starter. I actually had the starter kill a replacement battery since I thought it was that and had to get another one (thankfully under warranty through Walmart)
My 2015 EX has had 2 starter replacements since new... If the electrics work, aka the blower, exterior lights, power windows, audio and internal lights are working OK, but the engine only clicks and will not turn over, its probably the starter.
I had to replace the starter in my 2015 at only 75k miles. Highway miles at that. It was not a cheap starter either.
Honda's starter for the Fit sucks donkey butt. These starters are expensive items. Thats great, but the starter in the Fit, specifically the 2015 year model EX trim seems to be trash.
