La única otra marca que consideraría seriamente sería Sachs, pero solo las cargadas con gas, diseñadas para reemplazar las unidades GTI originales.
They fit! No rubbing anywhere. What a difference. Win, win. Handles just as good, so much smoother.
These rode very well for smooth roads and could absorb minor shocks very well and handled like a dream. The rears are tuned pretty stiff, but not too bad from the driver's side of things. The passengers wouldn't like it too much, but still it's more stiff than harsh.
Monroe is a long-time name brand and what I buy. They have worked well for me.
Rear springs. ZCU 5QM 511 121 E Shocks are SACHS.
So far has worked out great, some models they don't fit because of clearance issues.
New Sachs F&R Dampers -H\u00d6R 201V Scirocco Lower Springs -New Meyle Lower Control Arms -Delrin Lower Control Arm Bushings F&R -HD Strut Mounts (Poly Filled with WindowWeld) -Poly Rear Shock Mount Bushings -New Ball Joints -New Tie Rods
I have changed the 4 shock absorbers for new "RideSense" from Monroe, like the originals and the same thing continues to happen. The change between "Comfort" and "Sport" is also noticeable, but I do not perceive that the active function that regulates the suspension when cornering is working.
My experience with Monroe shocks was that "lifetime warranty" means, "for the lifetime of the shock".
I've never had a good set or known anyone who did. I've had Monroes faill in less than 1k miles on my Rabbit.
