I bought KYB shocks few years ago on Amazon for my C1500. Way cheaper compared to local parts store.

Go with KYB on Rock Auto. They seem to ride like oem, maybe a touch stiffer before break-in.

Pros: OEM-like ride
Cons: stiffer before break-in

I bought the shocks. They're good, very happy with them. Setting 1 is basically stock, though was better controlled with what I had. Setting 8 is noticeably firmer - allows much quicker inputs. Currently have them on 3/8 all around and car is balanced - maybe about as firm as an NB RS.

Pros: better controlled, quicker inputs
Cons: not crazy comfortable
Vehicle: Mazda

I initially replaced my front structs and rear shocks with KYB Excel-G parts as they “seemed” to have good ratings and reviews as “good” shocks. The ride quality is now more “rough” and “bouncy” since apparently these shocks/struts are more stiff.

Cons: rough and bouncy ride
Vehicle: Honda Civic
