I had Bilstein B8s with Neuspeed Sport springs and the damping is way better, and adjustable with clicks at the base of the shocks, with B16s even though the spring rates are significantly higher. B8/NSS were bouncy in comparison over expansion joints, etc.
Bilstein shocks will dramatically transform the on road experience
The answer is always the same. Bilstein 5100.
Get factory msport springs and Bilstein B6s and roll on. The springs will give the car a slightly more aggressive look than base E91 hight while still giving each corner plenty of travel. The B6s will give you a tight, yet smooth ride.
After installing new shocks felt like a completely different car. No body roll or nose dive.
I did bilsteins and solved my problems.
Bilsteins B6 perfect with 4 thick 7/16 washers.
I’d recommend Bilstein 5100 shocks, and old man emu springs for about a 2 inch lift.
Some people say Bilstein 5100 remove nose dive, but I disagree - the 5100 help, but you still nose dive.
Had my local shop install some OEM style Bilsteins in my truck, the shocks that come with the higher trim level, no lift or anything. This is what they sent me home with after the top not started backing off.
