I have hr and bilstein. Makes a big difference but is stiffer. If I can do it again I would go with hr and koni adjustable, I hear it's not as stiff.

Pros: makes a big difference
Cons: is stiffer

I ran 5100's f/r for awhile before installing a 2" lift. They rode great. They still ride great with the lift springs I installed later to accompany them. They feel like the "Sport" setting in the AHC switch would've felt like if you had good stock shocks. They're not spine compressing stiff in the slightest.

Pros: rode great, not stiff

I have a 460 and I did the 6100/5100 combo. The front dives HARD during aggressive breaking, so much so that I worry about the safety of it. But otherwise it rides nice and feels really good on and off road.

Pros: rides nice, feels good
Cons: front dives HARD
Vehicle: Lexus

I used Bilstein OE VDC shocks (same spec as BMW OEM). The FRONT ride is extremely rough and harsh on small bumps. Feels like: the front suspension has almost no travel, every road imperfection hits hard, the front is much stiffer than it should be, and the rear feels normal/comfortable.

Cons: rough and harsh
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 10000 km
