I did a suspension replacement in late November with the same Bilstein 5100s and the stock springs to level the 4runner and I love how they immediately improved my ride
Why don’t you just replace the shocks if that’s all that’s blown? Go with stock size OEM or Bilsteins if you’re not looking for a lift
I installed the Bilstein B6 shocks. I can happily report back that not only has handling improved noticeably, but the real shocker is that the ride quality also improved significantly. It's much smoother on broken pavement despite also being much tighter and flatter, so the car is both more comfortable AND more sporty. The difference in ride quality was night-and-day on horrible roads. Even on OEM springs it is a vast improvement and seems perfectly matched. Be aware it slightly lifts the car about 1/2 inch.
I put Bilstein on the front of my BMW and KYB on the rear and the car drives like a new one.
I totaled my beloved 2020, and got a 2021 recently, the only difference being the Bilsteins to lift, still setup by Primitive Racing. I immediately broke myself to get all the same stuff as the 2020.
I did it myself with Bilstein 5100s, cost about $700 and gave my truck a 2.5” lift. Looks awesome.
Bilstein B4 is a good replacement.
Front struts were making some noise so, I got some bilstien 5100 for front and back. Definitely worth the $ to upgrade. Also you have the option to add up to 2.5 inch’s off lift in the front with bilstien ride height adjust.
I run Bilstein 5160’s on my 22 F250 but they’re pricey.
I had Bilstein, but they broke after just 2 months.
