Shock absorbers Bilstein or Dobinsons

Bilstein Shock absorbers

Those appear to be Bilstein B6 or B8 shocks. They're Bilstein's sportier upgrade over the OEM replacement B4 shocks. The difference between the B6 and the B8 is that one of them is made for lowering springs and the other is designed for stock height. Because these are just struts and not coilovers, the ride height is not adjustable.

Pros: sportier upgrade
Cons: not adjustable ride height
Vehicle: BMW

The shocks on mine went bad and these were the only choice from fcp at the time. They are good shocks, and should last much longer than oem. They shouldn’t mess with the factory dynamics of the car, if that is what you are worried about

Pros: good shocks, last longer

I personally recommend the Bilstein B6 series for stock ride height utilizing OEM mounts and bearings. Rides extremely and handles way better than stock.

Pros: handles way better

I'm running Bilstein 5100s front and rear with oem springs

Runs great, very nice and comfortable, eats speed bumps and dog shit roads like a champ. Very oem ride feel, just a tad stiffer, rebounds quicker and doesn't hit the bump stops on large drops like I experienced on oem

Pros: nice and comfortable
Cons: tad stiffer

I love my Bilsteins, just the cheap yellow ones I forget the model. The vehicle is stiffer and infinitely better in corners and on the highway.

Pros: better in corners
Cons: vehicle is stiffer

I then replaced the front with some Bilsteins (I forget the model) along with other suspension components (OEM) a few months later. These pretty much feel the same as stock to me.

Pros: feel the same
