im EXTREMELY pleased with the oil filter. reason being.. my oil light has not come on and not buzzed at all! The oil buzzer has caused me the biggest headache for months which may have been from using bosch filters but i used a mann filter (i believe the oem) and it has still managed to buzz in the past. I dunno i guess this mann filter is the solution to that annoying light/buzzer
Use a bosch or a Mann oil filter for an 8v gasser engine.
I've used both Hengst and Mann over the years and never had a problem with either. Although I've noticed the Mann filters seem to look a little more "used" when the come out for some reason.
I stick with a winner. Mann filters and Mobil1.
I think the OEM filters are the best there is. Mann Filters – GTI 1.8t (OEM Supplier) • Oil Filter (W 719/30) – 9 micron filtration at 99.5 – 99.9% efficiency - By-pass valve opens at 2.5 bar = 36.3 psi - Cellulose treated with chemical – no fiberglass filters allowed in Germany - Long-life filter – has recently been greatly improved to allow VW/Audi’s extended drain intervals
I only use Mann Oil Filters on my car since 55 miles (currently 68k+). 6000 mile intervals for my Mobil 1 Synthetic oil change. Blackstone Labs recommended I use the oil for even more miles.
Mobil 1 M1-301 Like the Champion, this filter is made by Champion Industries. However, it uses a unique end plate and a thicker can that make it the strongest filter available for wide-distribution retail sale. It also does not use the fragile paper media of the Champion filter. I’m happy to say that this filter is NOT a fake. It is definitely a unique design. It uses a synthetic fiber element that can filter out very small particles and is much stronger than the fragile, Champion paper media. It is rated just under the Purolator Pure One as far as filtering capability, but is still very much above conventional paper filters. It also has a very strong construction to withstand high-pressure spikes during start-up. Given the choice between the Purolator Pure One and the Mobil 1 filters, I would choose the Mobil 1 because of the restriction concerns of the Pure One and that pesky assembly string. However, as with all Mobil 1 products, expect to pay 2 - 3 times as much for this filter.
Been using the 205 filter for 30K. I drive it pretty hard, so far so good.
ive been using the mobil 1 filter, my car is redlined frequently, and has seen the track on numerous occasions, ive had no problems.
I have one on my car and it works very well.
