Oil filter Mann or K&N

K&N Oil filter

Amsoil and Subaru filters. Other vehicles with horrible oil filter locations I use K&N because I can use a socket to pop them off.

Pros: socket to pop off
Cons: horrible oil filter locations

K&N Oil filter

I'm trying out that Rotella T6 5W-40 some of y'all talk about. Just snagged it off Amazon.

I also use K&N filters cause they've got a 1" nut welded on top.

Pros: 1" nut welded on
Vehicle: Subaru

Mann Oil filter

This time I'm using Mannol fully synthetic and a Mann filter, and as I need 8 litres of oil, it makes sense financially as it's very reasonably priced.

Pros: very reasonably priced

Mann Oil filter

I have an oil extractor that cost me $75 and it works great. Give it a few Pumps and let it do the job. For a 2.0t I’d get liqui moly with a Mann filter all for about $45.

Pros: works great

Mann Oil filter

Lol - there is a torque spec on the factory oil caps now 32mm socket @ 25Nm is all it needs. And yes I use my torque wrench every time on it I Only use Mann or OEM filters from the dealership. Not had a collapse.

Pros: no collapse

K&N Oil filter

i had a k&n on my car, immediately i noticed how much lighter and cheaper feeling it was compared to the previous bosch filter i had, also noticed it had a round gasket opposed to the flat one found on most oil filters, but despite this i ran it anyways, a month goes by and i notice my car is starting to leave puddles of oil everywhere, i put it in the shop and lift it up and sure enough the oil is leaking right from the shitty gasket on the k&n filter, replaced it with a bosch and haven’t had an issue

Cons: oil leak, cheap feeling
