Around 2 months ago, one of the starting coils failed. I checked here and some said that the stock "Delphi" coils are known for failing. So i changed all of them for "Bosch" coils.
get the Bosch brand their the same as OEM trust me I know don’t get any other brand even though their going to be cheaper get the Bosch. Besides honestly most of the ignition coils is Bosch companies just throw their name on it to charge more
Get a Bosch and skip the brand logo. Same part and available…aaand cheaper. Same issue for me c63s.
Bosch working great for a few years now, cheap as dirt on rockauto
One additional benefit is that the Duralast Coils have a free replacement for life. FWIW I put about 4 coils on my old 2007 and never had one fail over the course of 5 years and ~50k miles.
I bought the Bosch 4 yr and 10k miles ago and haven't had issues.
Duralast is a hit or miss kinda deal. It’s equivalent to oem. The good thing about it is you can swap them out for new ones if it ever fails. The bad thing is they either fail in a very short period of time or last for a very long time there’s no in between.
I believe Delphi is what people switched over to because the Bosch coils were failing.
I’m having similar jerking problems like when my plugs/coils went bad again and the mechanic suggests coils, especially if I don’t have “Honda brand” coils. How bad off are duralast coils? Autozone is switching out these ones now for free due their warranty but I know now if the car starts messing up again that I need a new brand. I drive A LOT, so I’m wondering how normal is it for duralast coils to go bad so fast? They were literally changed in the mid winter. I can imagine I drove about 10-15k miles before my car started having problems again
One of my Bosch coils went bad within 13 months. Probably would have happened with Delphi for all my luck. Nevertheless, I returned all six to FCPEuro for lifetime replacement warranty.
