Bosch Ignition coil

Just stuck a load of Bosch in mine, worked a treat, xHP throttle blip downshifts were sometimes jerky and causing transmission faults but now they’re as smooth as butt’uh.

Pros: smooth downshifts
Cons: jerky downshifts

Coils: buy Bosch or Delphi coils. DO NOT BUY THEM OFF OF AMAZON. You would be better off leaving them then replacing them with an aftermarket brand.

Cons: avoid aftermarket brands

Bosch Ignition coil

I assumed it was bad and while it was sad to get rid of the OE Bosch, Autozone had a C831 coil that I was able to pick up. I think the boot was slightly too small but I’m 90% sure it’s making contact but I am still not getting it to arc.

Cons: boot slightly too small
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Part number: C831

I had all new Bosch coils installed on my e46 M3 about 30k miles ago. They worked fine, until one day the car went into limp mode due to bad coil / misfire.

Pros: worked fine initially
Cons: bad coil, misfire, limp mode
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 48280 km
