Engine radiator MISHIMOTO or Koyo

Koyo Engine radiator

Seems like a loose ground, my s13 did this when the grounds randomly came loose. That said my s13 cluster is so damn slow to react so I run an aftermarket gauge. I have a koyo rad which came with a slot for an aftermarket sensor.

Also i would hope it's not the case, however you mentioned this after an alternator change. I had a 96 civic with a turbo setup and I had an alternator with a failed voltage regulator, all of my aftermarket gauges and temp gauge was acting like this. I would check the volts from the alternator if this is the case, it also ballooned the hell out of my battery..

Pros: aftermarket gauge reliable, alternator voltage check
Cons: potential voltage regulator failure
Vehicle: Honda Civic

I bought the mishimoto rad and it works well, the main benefit to the mishimoto is that they have a no questions asked lifetime guarantee. I had to replace it after a year due to a leak and mishimoto replaced it completely free with very good customer service. So the rads might not be as good as CSF but my dealings with the company have been very positive.

Pros: lifetime guarantee, good customer service
Cons: not as good as CSF

I went front mount on a DD that gets occasional track use. Huge benefit and reduction in heat soak. Needed to upgrade my radiator to a mishimoto 3 core to help keep temps down during track days. Overall happy with the upgrade, but not required until you start pushing big power.

Pros: reduction in heat soak
Cons: radiator upgrade needed

Front tie bar, sometimes called a traction bar. Sharpens up the steering response, reduces torque steer significantly and in my case, reduced NVH

Pros: sharpens steering response, reduces torque steer
Cons: reduced NVH

For the same price, I would get the mishimoto, but my Amazon OEM style radiator was $75 and my only complaint is the unused transmission cooler bungs which aren’t needed on a manual.

Pros: same price
Cons: unused transmission cooler bungs
Vehicle: Mazda
