Engine oil RED LINE or MOTUL
I’d just stick with Motul, typically you pay for what you get.
Motul 7100 is good but quite expensive. I had good experiences with it. Not sure if its just me but it seemed like it holds heat better? My temp gauge always seems to hold steady at three bars when not stopping and my N400 feels smoother for shift changes.
I use redline high performance 5w30 and I don’t burn a drop of oil even with 7500 mile intervals on my n54 powered 335is…With bmw synthetic my car would burn about a quart at 7500 miles.
Motul 5w-30 [or 5w-40 when ambient temp is above 80] 8100 X-clean EFE, based on IAG's recommendation for the FA20
I live in the same area with the same motor and run Motul 300V competition 5w40 on my high mileage track car at the recommendation of my mechanic
I use Red Line in everything. The M3 gets 15w-50.
I would say 0w20 Motul 8100 is a solid choice.
I use Motul's 0w-20 "Eco-lite" and change about every 4-5 (or April-October really) with about 25 autocrosses and the highway driving to get to them.
I use Motul 300v 0w20, plus oil analysis from Blackstone Labs, currently every 6k miles until they tell me otherwise
Motul 8100 5w-30
