Engine oil Mobil or VALVOLINE

Eh if it’s VW approved then it’s fine. I just use Castrol Euro or Valvoline Euro and haven’t had any issues.

I run 5w30 Mobil 1 ESP with a Mann filter every 10k kms on my 7.5R. Got a great deal on it when it was on sale. It meets VW ratings, and I feel like that is really what is important.

I am using Liqui Moly now, but was using Valvoline/Mobil 1.

Got my car at 36k miles, and used the Valvoline/Mobil 1 up to ~300k miles and no major issues…

I use 5w-20 full synthetic from Mobil One. I change it every 5k miles, no more, and never have any issues with it.

Last oil change I put in Valvoline R&P 5W-30. The final 500 miles before the oil change I added Rislone and it changed the color of the oil from light to dark brown. When I got the car it was using a quart in about 2200-2500 miles.

Been reading user anecdotes about R&P for a while now, and it's like 98% positivity among those who reported oil consumption before using R&P and seeing substantial improvement after.

My Miata isn't currently burning an oil at all, but I put R&P in it and I intend to change it every 3k because it makes me sleep well.

I prefer Mobil 1 oil, some people will swear by the or that brand. I just wouldn’t buy store brand stuff myself.

I am running 0W-30 (already passed my powertrain warranty). Engine sounds quieter and better (ie less trashy).

Yeah, this has bothered me for a bit. I like the Gen.G team, but I didn't attempt to get any of their free merch at Rotterdam, precisely because I don't want to be a walking Mobil 1 ad.

I burn 1 qt of Mobile 1 0-40 every 1000 miles.
