Engine oil Mobil or VALVOLINE

VALVOLINE Engine oil

So I went from valvoline max life full synthetic 10w-30 in my k1500 92 gmc sierra sle with the 350 and tow package, flat tapped cam truck, to valvoline restore and protect 5w-30. I was having oil pressure issues, only 188,xxx miles. After switching to R&P, 1500 miles into the oil change, I consistently have above 30psi oil pressure.

Pros: improved oil pressure
Mileage: 188000 km

Mobil1. Period. Years of personal experience. When I was in my 20's twenty years ago I was using Motul too because everyone else was and I didnt know any better. Try them out. Detergents, how clean the oil remains after each oil change and how smooth it runs were some deciding factors for me.

Pros: clean oil, smooth run

VALVOLINE Engine oil

Ang nagamit ko palang na brands ay toyota, shell, at valvoline. Walang problema sa 3 na yan. Pero last kong gamit ay valvoline eto yung sakto sa specs sa manual. Mas mararamdaman mo na smooth yung sa makina.

Pros: smooth yung sa makina
Mileage: 2000 km

My 14' outback burned 1-2qts between oil changes based on driving (lots of short trips or visits to the mountains burned more.) Never had any blue smoke on startup or during driving.

Down to .5-1 qt low after 5000 miles now.

Pros: reduced oil consumption
Cons: moderate acceleration knock
Mileage: 5000 km

My 03 forester was burning a quart every 1,000 miles when I got it. Switched to restore and protect and it just stopped burning oil. Not even a gradual decrease in the amount it was burning, just completely stopped burning oil all together.

Pros: stopped burning oil
Mileage: 1000 km

I was running it in a VR6 engine, and couldn't believe how much extra chain and lifter noise there was. I put up with it for a couple weeks, thinking it might get better but it didn't, so I switched to Castrol Edge 5w-40 and noticed the difference immediately. Noise means wear, so I feel comfortable staying away from M1 for my VR6 engines.

Pros: switched to Castrol Edge
Cons: extra chain and lifter noise
