Since then, I've changed my oil to a low SAPS VW 504 Mobil 1 5w30 ESP X3 which according to lubrizol has superior resistance to deposit and sludge formation. At this point, I've got consumption down to around 1qt/1400 mi which is a great improvement from where it was before. Hoping for further improvements with time but pleased with progress.
I’m slowly switching to Mobil1 since I started doing oil analysis.
It has no sodium and therefore a good way to see if there is a coolant leak.
I've used Mobil 1 in my 2011 Mazda Speed3 for 8 years. My 2019 Bullitt gets Mobil 1 as well. Mobil 1 is reasonably priced and meets the spec required by both cars.
Mobil 1. I've used it in all of my cars. Two of my mustangs lasted until 240k before needing a rebuild.
Mobil 1, my 05 GT with 150k miles on it getting cams a few weeks ago looks clean inside. I've had the car since 70k and Mobil is all I run in it.
LiquiMoly is fine. I used 0w40 Mobil 1 as I do in every single one of my cars for the last decade and it’s absolutely fine.
Not sure if my opinion matters, but I use the Toyota version of the Mobil1 0W-16. Runs great.
Change the oil again and use Mobil 1 full synthetic and make sure it says V-TWIN on the label.
I’ve been using Mobile 1 since I’ve purchased my RAV4-brand new. Now at 160xxx miles with no oil burn. Runs like the day I bought it
I usend to run syn 15w50 in my tired old vr6 all year round, it helped with seeping issues, lifter noise and all if that. but the oil pressure would be through the roof during first start. so I'd set aside a few mins in the morning to let the car idle, relax, listen to a song and let it get some heat in it. on a normal day, the star up pressure would be .5 bar past the filter bypass (10 bar), warm idle was 2 and a bit, and everything above 3.5k was back to the bypass.
