for my Focus mk1 2002 1.6 i use Ford motorcraft at the last 2 changes but motul 8100 is totally fine, prev owner used it for 50-60k kms without issues(i know the owner, the mechanic, and i got a huge pile of paper as service history). odo is close to 280k. oil consumption is 0.5-1.0litre / 10000km depends how heavy my shoe is on highways. most important is oil spec and visco. any “good named” brand from valid source will work perfectly. i prefer motul and eneos, but this is just me, they do exactly the same: works no question. just change it regularly. i do mine at every 10-12k but i commute to work 100km 4 times a week, my oil barely operates cold.

Pros: no issues, works perfectly
Cons: some oil consumption
Vehicle: Ford Focus
Mileage: 280000 km

Mobil Engine oil

After some digging through some bimmer forums i saw people say viscosity is less of a factor than ensuring it's LL compatible. So the closest visosity i found in store was 5w-30 and i chose mobil 1 euro spec that was Ll-01 compatible.

Pros: LL-01 compatible
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 92000 km

Mobil Engine oil

I put Mobil1 high mileage full synthetic 5w-30 in both my car and my wife’s. The same gets put in the snowblower and lawn mower. It’s been that way for years and they both cut the grass and throw the snow from -30F to 100F weather just fine.

Pros: works in extreme temperatures

I would trust a 0W-20 in a Toyota or Honda. After all, Honda and Idemitsu invented 0W-20, while Toyota worked with Idemitsu on 0W-8. I’ll reluctantly use it in a Subaru(and it must be Mobil 1 ESP X2 or Castrol Edge gold bottle with Mercedes/BMW/VW and/or GM dexosD/dexos2 approvals) but switch over to a ILSAC or Euro 5W-30 once warranty is up.

Mobil Engine oil

Im using Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30 which is a thicker Euro oil here in Upper Midwest USA. I don't notice any difference is sound, acceleration, not efficiency vs 0w-16 and 9w-20 in a 2024 Rav4 Prime XSE.

Pros: no difference in sound
Cons: no difference in efficiency
Vehicle: Toyota

Mobil Engine oil

I learned mobil 1 is the absolute worst oil to use in Subaru engines, especially ej257. Simply because it is good oil but because of the poor oil cooling the detergents burn in the engines causing premature wear.

Cons: detergents burn, premature wear
Vehicle: Subaru
