Castrol Engine oil

I did an oil change at 6,300 miles on the factory fill. I sent it in for a UOA through Blackstone labs, but I'm not sure how to attach it here. The TBN showed some life still left in the oil, they suggested trying 8,000 miles next.

Pros: life still left in oil
Mileage: 6300 km

I would drain that oil with the Marvel in it and use use 0w-40 Castrol Full Synthetic (Made in Germany/Belgium). You can get a 5 quart jug at Wal-Mart for less than $25 usually. It's probably the best "over the counter" oil you can use in a VR6. Widely used and highly recommended.

Pros: best 'over the counter' oil, widely used, highly recommended
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I'm currently happy with Mobil 1, 15w50, except when it comes time to pay for it, yikes that stuff is pricey. First time I ran the Mobil 1, guess what happened?? Oil light flicker at hot idle. Replaced the low pressure switch, no more flicker. That switch didn't change characteristics just because I changed oil, the fresh oil was thinner, oil pressure decreased.

Pros: happy with oil
Cons: pricey, oil light flicker
Vehicle: Volkswagen
