I've run LiquiMoly 5W-30 with the correct BMW engine ratings for over a decade now. Regular changes every 5k miles or 12 months and runs smooth as butter.

Castrol Engine oil

In my 323i with the 2.5L N52 engine, I use Castrol Edge 5w40 with the appropriate LL specification. Oil consumption is 3000 km per liter, with 190,000 km on the clock.

Pros: appropriate LL specification
Cons: oil consumption 3000km/liter

So recently I’ve noticed that on startup I get a little white smoke that dies down after warming up to about 170 oil temp I noticed this after I changed the oil I used the same green liquimoly oil my gti has been stage 2 tuned for abt 5k miles now, stock is20 and it’s a mk7 tuned it at 100k miles I’m thinking pcv. my peak boost has gone down one psi and I remember it used to hold 28.5 right before I up shifted now it’s only 26.5
