Never heard of this claim, not even from liquimoly. I used to use their same oil in the picture, Toptec 5W-40 on my Skoda Superb for years in 2015

I highly recommend running Liqui-Moly. Amazing oil and I have run it in every german car I have owned with no issues.

I also use liquimoly 4200 top tech in my 2022 rs3

I like using Amsoil because its very good at withstanding heat.

Oil needs to be specificly designed for VW. The dreaded Pentastar tick is GONE! It took about a week of regular use for the noise (on the passenger side of the top of the engine) that used to show up after idling for a few minutes to completely disappear with the new oil. I’m sure plenty of oils work fine but I went with Amsoil because my brother gave me a gift card and referral coupon for my birthday. I run 6 qts because I already have the Baxter spin-on adapter. Which requires a little more oil. The dipstick reads “low” at 5 qts whether I’m idling or checking it after the Jeep has been off for ten minutes. With 6 qts it sits right and holds a steady 30 PSI and never spikes. Such a relief!
