Engine oil Castrol or AMSOIL
I use castrol magnatec beucase it has some kindof ionization tech where it sticks to metal surfaces to reduce start up wear which the prius is constanly starting/stopping.
As someone who lives in Florida, and has a high mileage m54 motor, I only use Castrol 5w40 and 5w30 if I cant find the first option. Runs amazing and daily driven with some abuse lol
Go to wallmart and buy two jugs of Castrol Edge Full Synthetic 5W-30 and then just purchase a couple filters off of FCP Euro.
I only run Amsoil in everything I own from cars to lawnmowers. I use their signature series, but with the 0W-16 they only have their regular blend.
The 2020 has been great but the engine still clacked and groan albeit nowhere near the 19. With the 0.5 quart of Castrol 5W50 I love the car now! Pickup is great and the engine being pettier seems to help the transmission shift better also.
I use edge 5w40, I switched from 5w30 and oil consumption has went way down and it feels like the engine runs smoother.
Castrol 5W-40 Euro been using it since 20k miles now at 160k mile zero issues other then gasket leaks.
I like Amsoil. A lot of guys swear by Shell Rotella T6.
I use Castrol Edge High Millage and a STP XL filter or Mobil 1.
I put mine in around 20k. The first change I did - it had 2 small metal shavings. I got very nervous. Ever since then there has been the powder you have in the pic above. Sometimes more sometimes less. The 2 times I have used Castrol I found more than other times (This could mean it protects less or that it carries the particles better than other oils). I will only become worried when I start seeing shavings. To me it's only an additional monitoring system. Like in a tranny - powder is ok, but shavings mean save up some cash. oh and my car is now at 125k.
