Honda's CVT is seemly bulletproof at stock power levels. At my wife's work(Honda specialist shop) they have never had a Honda CVT failure, with numerous customers at over 250k miles. And many more at around 200k.

Pros: bulletproof at stock power

OEM Honda CVT transmission

The CVTs aren't bad, the key thing most people who have needed replacements is lack of maintenance. I've seen Honda Odysseys that have driven as NYC cabs need transmission fluid at 10k cause of the driving.

Pros: not bad if maintained
Cons: requires strict maintenance
Vehicle: Honda Odyssey

2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4L: This is my car. 220k miles, transmission oil drain/refill (3 quarts out, 3 in) Every 2nd oil change (20k miles each). Not a single issue. Running great. Quiet, smooth, highly responsive.

Pros: no issues, running great, quiet, smooth, responsive
Vehicle: Honda Accord
Mileage: 354055 km

On a positive note, the Honda CVT transmissions are bulletproof. There are hundreds of not thousands of 10-year-old CVT K24 Honda Accords and 1.5L non turbo CVT Honda Fits going strong at 200,000-400,000 miles with original transmissions.

Pros: bulletproof, high mileage reliability

So disappointed in some of their products in the last few years. They're losing me with the CVT thing. Nobody can tell me CVT garbage will last as long as the conventional transmissions have.

Cons: disappointing reliability, won't last long
