My slave cylinder started leaking on my 13 2.0T r-spec, and the first shop I took it to quoted me $3500. Checked with the dealer, $4500. Second shop quoted me $2500, and the third and smallest shop quoted me $1500 and they got my business, hah. Feels great now, and they put in the basic Valeo kit you can find on rock auto.

Pros: Feels great now

If you are doing it yourself and would consider stock, you could go the route I went with my family's 2015 jetta TDI. Buy the OEM Sachs clutch kit and VW dual mass flywheel from FCP EURO and have a lifetime replacement warranty on all of the expensive wear items. I also installed the orifice delete. Clutch feel is great

Pros: great clutch feel, lifetime warranty

VW Performance Clutch Kit - Sachs Performance KIT-883082001422 VW Performance Clutch Kit - Sachs Performance KIT-883082001422 www.fcpeuro.com Stock-ish feeling, no rattles in the bottom end, will hold all the torque you will be able to generate on a stage 1 car, and likely have the longest life due to material and full faced disc. I will likely be installing one on my car next year some time.

Pros: Stock-ish feeling, no rattles

I've got a 2003 Jetta 1.8T GLS Manual (canadian model, made in mexico), and the clutch burnt out, was slipping and was trying to sell it to a family member, well they burnt the clutch out on the test drive and now I just want to get a stock replacement (so don't need a racing clutch, etc;)

I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to car repair, I did my research, called around, the VW dealer tells me the "high cost" the local repair shops quote me something else, everyone has different parts, and part numbers.

If anyone could give me some feedback? I have 2 mechanics that told me if I buy the part, and save money they will install it. But I want to make sure I get the correct part.

Here are the following clutch kits that I've found:

*$379 Sachs W0133-1891446 Clutch Kit*

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Volkswagen/Jetta/Sachs/Clutch_Kit/2003/GLS/4_Cyl_1-dot-8L/W0133-1891446.html

(looks like it includes the flywheel + conversion components, other cheaper ones do not).

*$295 Valeo W0133-1889745 Clutch Kit*

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Volkswagen/Jetta/Valeo/Clutch_Kit/2003/GLS/4_Cyl_1-dot-8L/W0133-1889745.html

(no flywheel kit, but a little cheaper)

The site 'matches' my VW when I put in the details, however I'm not sure what to look for here.

Thoughts? Would appreciate any feedback :)

I manual swapped the car myself and used a stock clutch fork, [this](https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1326451&cc=1134010&pt=1993&jsn=18&_nck=HllVxRCey1%2B2aVRDo41oQXhbegy63eH0ZQw4Qu2hbnVNrSa9QiFztXFB8fAiad4cNnjyg1Wh75cdlSCw6212A%2BF7sjOu10NFmttFaSg9TgmJ79BOXctBfgOsvzChLR%2FJb1t2NdrLb7j5Izi9VCWKZEoPuIDDobaM7Nivo%2FfSWA9mToJBXGAQcYvUFR0tXWI0vw63Op9RQQBMSocBR2FUeL%2BQPlhbXGbm4WTSnmuf%2BkU50Z9HUqkperMi8C8R6rldqwLO%2Fm5akTCRGFR%2B9gblQ3PsI4JdJiCZS%2FNe5MkyloNGyW1guyER%2F1sHrCMGt%2F8g) Valeo kit and [this](https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8116052&cc=1134010&pt=1972&jsn=13) cable. Right from the start it was very heavy and I just put up with it but I've recently been in another fox which had a much lighter pedal, inline with what i'm used to with cable clutches.

Cons: very heavy
