Brake pads OEM Subaru or OEM Porsche

OEM Porsche Brake pads

It's honestly very low maitenence, the only thing that's slightly more costly than "normal" is your oil change due to the larger volume needed for these engines. Brakes are cheap of you do them yourself, not really different than other cars though. As far as reliability is concerned, it's top-notch.

Pros: very low maintenance, top-notch reliability
Cons: oil change slightly costly

I as well just replaced the oem brakes after almost 7 years. Other than a warrantied sensor, I've not had any issues. Still a blast to drive after 7 years, it still feels new.

Pros: still a blast to drive
Mileage: 48000 km

For whatever it's worth, I had these on my B7 A4 and then S4...I had no issues with the brakes on the S4. Felt great and definitely an improvement. I definitely felt a difference when I had a full car of people and did a complete stop with everyone inside the car. Car just stopped.

Pros: felt great, definitely improvement

The STi also stops hard. It turned in the shorter braking distance of the two cars, using just 114.5 feet of asphalt to haul down from 60 mph. Pedal feel is firm and progressive, and ABS operation is quiet and refined.

Pros: firm pedal feel

brake – the PCCB’s giving huge retardation with an equivalent, solid connected feel. And on and on and on you go all the time at one with the machine.

Pros: huge retardation, solid feel

Subarus in general are frickin' bulletproof. (WRX transmissions aside) I drove a Subaru Legacy 30th Anniversary Edition (2.5 liter, automatic...I think it's pretty similar to the '97 Legacy GT) and it was a surprisingly good drive...good handling and pretty good power...brakes were a bit sucky, though.

Pros: good handling, good power
Cons: brakes were sucky
