Brake pads OEM BMW or Hawk Performance

Hawk Performance Brake pads

I put Hawk Performance drilled and slotted on my 2017 STI. Ceramic pads. Have saved my car a couple times when assholes decided to jump the line and do a U-turn in front of me.

Pros: saved car from accidents
Vehicle: Subaru

I swap mine the day before. They aren't race pads, just hawk hp+. I wouldn't want to daily them, they're loud and dusty but work totally fine on the street so I drive them to my track days

Pros: work fine on street
Cons: loud, dusty
Vehicle: Toyota

Genuine BMW pads and discs only. Driven 200k miles in my beamers. Even the e46 gets genuine BMW factory brakes. My 640i got new genuine discs and pads about a year or 2 ago. (£550 in parts, £80 labour).

Pros: long lasting, good feel
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 200000 km

I’ve got StopTech st-40’s and run Hawk HP+ pads. They have good bite and hold up pretty well, they’re just SUPER loud until they’re hot and are also fairly dusty

Pros: good bite, holds up well
Cons: super loud, dusty

Hawk Performance Brake pads

I was leaning toward trying Hawk HPS pad for the GSW, but I first put them on my Focus ST and while I'm satisfied with the performance, I'm disappointed in the noise level; I have a squeak that I cannot eliminate, even after taking them off, re-bedding, and meticulously applying brake grease in the right spots.

Pros: satisfied with performance
Cons: disappointed in the noise level
Vehicle: Ford Focus

the brakes just didn't like slowing from 140 to 90, even though that's something I regularly do on the highway - it doesn't like it then either, but it was scarier on track. What I mean by "the brakes didn't like it" is that after one or maximum 2 hard brakes, the pedal and steering wheel transmit a horrible vibration everytime I even touch the brakes, and this goes on until I presume the brakes have either cooled off, or the rotors have bent themselves back into shape.

Cons: horrible vibration, scary
Vehicle: BMW
