I'm a Mintex Red Box fan, I also upgrade to AutoTech drilled/vented rotors since I drive like I stole it. 2009 Jetta driver.
Will not go back. Love to quick launch, quiet drive, no maintenance. Still on original disks and PADS at 180,000 km (120k miles)
My Tesla has huge rear brakes I hardly ever use. The factory brake pads still look brand new after all these miles. Rear brakes are pointless if you have regen braking.
model-3S have been remarkably reliable, many past 200,000 miles have little issues, some still on the original brake pads.
I replaced both my front brake discs and pads a month ago and have driven about 1075 miles. On the passenger side, one of the grooves has gone but the other remains and I feel like its getting worse although not 100% sure.
Oh, I did have rust pop on one of the original brake pads so I had to replace that this spring - very little pad wear though!
Just did brakes and rotors in my 2022 model 3 with 189,000 km\nFirst big bill $3000
To be fair Tesla brakes are not great. Combined with regen? Sure it’s adequate, but drive a German vehicle and see what brakes are about.
I had a colleague with brake failure on a model 3. The first thing he did after insurance paying for the crash, and hearing he'd be out of his car for at least 3 months was to order a real car, a Mazda.
Tesla model 3 brakes are the worst of any 300+hp car I've driven and really need the regen braking. The iboost system is probably maxed out already thats why they "fixed"the long stopping distance with a software update. Driving @high state of charge you will notice the reduced braking power because of the lack of regen.
Before the software update, needing 7 feet more than a ford f150 from 60mph to complete stop was just ridiculous.
