Brake pads EBC or OEM FORD
Yellow stuff. If you don't track they're the better value. Less dust on your wheels, they'll perform in the cold better
I got red EBC performance brakes for like $150. Installed myself. No shaking. Handles very well. Fits perfect.
I had oem pads then changed to ebc yellow stuff pads, huge a world of difference and I can’t recommend it enough but avoid the grooved disks from ebc as you get mad vibration sounds under heavy braking
My Ford C-max hybrid has 113k miles on it. It's engine has around 80k miles on it. I change the oil like once a year. I've never touched the brakes because it barely uses them.
Get OE blank rotors, a set of your preferred pads and some good high temp brake fluid. (I really like EBC yellow stuff for daily, autocross, and light track stuff.) Unless you're really going hard on the track, there's not a real need for slotted or drilled. Even when I did hard track stuff I still just rocked the blank rotors most of the time. They still held up well and were cheaper to replace too.
I went with EBC drilled and grooved with yellowstuff pads I think. Highly recommended
I’m rocking EBC RedStuff and I love them.
Im about to change my rotors for the second time with some fresh EBC blue stuff pads. If you plan on putting any heat into the brakes, just be ready for hot spots on the rotor and for the rotor to be toast.
Took the Swift for a spirited drive down the horseshoe pass today, by the bottom the brakes stank, pedal went soft and stopping power became dangerously weak. Drove it softly for a mile or so and they were back to normal and I could lock the wheels again.
I personally had a terrible time with EBC brakes especially the yellow stuff. A month of daily driving and one track day had the pads so low they actually slipped out of the calipers while I was driving, customer support swore up and down I installed them wrong and it’s my fault. I put project mu hybrid pads on next and I’ve been out on 6 different tracks days and a year of driving and there is still 5mm of pad life left.
