I love me some blanks and Ferodo pads. But the pads aren't too budget friendly ($90 a set) and they've quite dirty, but the stopping power is awsome.

Pros: awsome stopping power
Cons: quite dirty, not budget friendly

About a year ago I replaced my stock (inexpensive) rotors and pads with ATE rotors and EBC greenstuff pads. They seemed like a great combo, they reduced my stopping distance by quite a bit.

Pros: reduced stopping distance

Ferodo Brake pads

I got the upgrade, it's definitely noticeable from the stock 11.3 in the 1.8ts and vr6s - but really, if you want best stop for budget, just upgrade the rotors to slotted for heat dissapation and some good ferodo pads... but if you do upgrade, you'll notice difference in stopping - as well as your acceleration since you have more rotaional mass at that point...

Pros: noticeable difference in stopping
Cons: more rotational mass

Well, I was talking abou OEM rotors with DS2500 pads, not OEM pads. I replaced the stock pads after 30k wich was reasonable but DS2500s have much higher friction coeff.

Pros: higher friction coeff
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 30000 km

Got about 6k miles on them and they are really great pads. Only thing is they are dusty, but I can live with that. It is scary when i drive cars with the stock pads now.

Pros: really great pads
Cons: they are dusty
Mileage: 9656 km

I ran the SCCA PDX on June 15 on the Summit Point Main Circuit. The burning brake smell that several other drivers remarked on turned out to be the stench of my EBC reds and stock rear pads decomposing.

Cons: burning brake smell, decomposing

fast road pads like EBC Greens are actually slower to operate from cold. So much so that I nearly failed to stop for a pedestrian crossing one cold morning soon after start up. I simply wasn't expecting my pads to be so bad first thing. With the soft stock pads you get an intial bite that you don't get with fast road pads. This is a world away from the EBC Greens on 280mm brakes that used to get totally chewed up in one day at Sandown. Or the EBC Reds that disintegrated entirely.

Cons: slower to operate cold, no initial bite, chewed up on track
