my GLI did it slightly but it went away when I switched to Centric Ceramic pads. Stock Organic pads were terrible in just about every aspect. The Centrics fixed every issue.
Also the Hawk 5.0 pads are GREAT.. squeak a bit, but they are a high torque ceramic pad which have great bite. They dust like crazy.
Bought Audi S3 caliper from a wreck yard on eBay. Also used Hawk 5.0 pads. Tremendous brake upgrade.
I went with the centric posi-quiets on my GLI. They are everything I hoped for. PS. the clips are a pain but I found a little deadblow hammer to the top of the pad and they popped right in.
After some miles on the car no dust! Approved!
I just replaced my brakes few weeks ago. I did TONS of research and the best combo I feel was Centric Premium rotors and Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic pads. Get from Rockauto and google 5% off coupon. I am super happy with them and no squealing at all. Just came back from a 1500 mile road trip with no issues.
I got them installed and the hardest part was the dam clips they are so hard to compress to slide them in. I had to juggle them sideways. Anyone had this problem? I needed a second hand. They feel great! They are so much thicker than stock. I fallowed this guy's video: Yes I had to compress the Pistons.
The Centric PosiQuiet ceramics are WAY better than the OEM pads, no nasty hard-to-modulate initial bite. Rather the Centric's are quite linear in their force-to-braking ratio. I just upgraded my '18 GTI to a '19 R and have a set on order.
I have installed Porsche calipers 996.352.425/6 calipers on the front of my MK1 TT with stock sized 12.3" discs with Hawk HPS pads and SS lines.
Hawk DTC-60 are known for tearing apart rotors. I went through 2 sets of OEM rotors on my m2 running Endless MS35 pads and I got the same grooving both times. Luckily without the vibration and shaking.
