Brake pads Brembo or OEM Mazda

OEM Mazda Brake pads

2015 sedan. I did my brakes last spring. I went with OEM as I found them cheaper than any aftermarket I could find near me and as far as I knew I still had OEM on my car and had lasted me a long time. Zero issues since having them installed, I’m happy.

Pros: zero issues, long lasting

I was quoted 1200 to change my brake pads on my ND. Did it myself of course but it was funny to find out what the dealership wanted.

Pros: did it myself
Cons: expensive dealership quote

Took the car in for a service , got a work car and it's been driving the Rx much less. I wouldn't have done it all at once, so did a service, replaced brake pads.

Pros: replaced brake pads

I've been using Brembo pads for more than 300km after bedding. The package is super tidy. It came with an installation manual. The pad looks beautifully made. The materials feel nice. The Brembo is way more smoother than the OEM (Textar). Textar is more harsh, especially in traffic. I swapped the pads with Brembo and the problem of stopping smoothly went away instantly. It creates way less dust than Textar.

Pros: smooth braking, less dust
Cons: more expensive, red backside
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 300 km

I got my 2015 M3 2.5, 3 years ago with 30k Miles, now at 150k miles I have gone thru a lot of maintenance items. Additionally, my 15’ M3 GTS is “Made in Japan” not in Mexico, (some parts are actually different, Like my brake pads!) I attribute this to having a better built car.

Pros: better built car
Vehicle: Mazda 3
Mileage: 150000 km

I have a 2017 BRZ with the Performance package 34k miles. Brembo's squeal when slowing down at around 5-15mph. The dealership can't figure out why it's squealing. I found some forums where brake squeals are normal for Brembo.

Pros: stops well
Cons: squealing brakes
Vehicle: Subaru BRZ
Mileage: 34000 km

easy 40 minute job to replace brakes on my 14 Mazda 3 took about two hours. It all pops off super easy going great. Go to put them on, well shit they don't fit. Try the other side for some reason thinking I'm just having a stupid moment. Doesn't work either.

Pros: easy to remove
Cons: brakes don't fit
Vehicle: Mazda 3
