Akebono was the oem brand last I checked, not sure if still the case. I'm using them, and they stop just like oem, no noise or issues.

Pros: stop like OEM, no noise

They're quiet, low dust, and take away a little of the overly aggressive initial bite (i hate it, you might not).

Pros: quiet, low dust, less aggressive initial bite

Akebono Brake pads

On my particular vehicle, the front pads and rear pads have a friction code of GG. I am currently running the Akebobo ASP performance brake pads and have been completely satisfied and impressed with the performance.

Pros: satisfied with performance, impressed with performance

On my particular vehicle, the front pads and rear pads have a friction code of GG. I am currently running the Akebobo ASP performance brake pads and have been completely satisfied and impressed with the performance. Akebono has apparently discontinued their performance ASP line and replace them with “an equivalent“. their standard line ACT pads are allegedly exactly the same, with reduced copper content. Additionally, the front pads still have a GG rating, but the rear pads are a lower FF rating.

Pros: satisfied with performance, impressed with performance

Brembo Brake pads

I'm running a Trueno, which has the factory Brembos. With the stock pads at a track with a decent amount of braking demand (at which I've had more severe brake issues in several other cars), I get about half way into a session before they start to fade... not bad, but enough to notice reduced performance (firm pedal, just longer braking zones). There's no doubt that running an actual track pad that's meant for the heat will completely resolve the issue.

Cons: brake fade, reduced performance
Vehicle: Toyota

Brembo Brake pads

Mileage: 15000 km
