Akebono makes great fully ceramic brake pads that have been long lasting, zero brake dust, and only a little squeakiness when they're cold for the first few brake presses at worst.

Pros: long lasting, zero brake dust
Cons: little squeakiness when cold

I've switched over to Akebono ceramic on all of my cars. They make so little dust it's kinda amazing. I would never trust them on a track day, but for daily or light spirited driving they're amazing.

Pros: low dust, amazing
Cons: untrustworthy for track use

I always recommend OEM pads, but the Toyota pads are going for $80 now for your Corolla. If you're on a tight budget, I'd go with Akebono for $57 at Rock Auto. Buying cheap brake pads isn't advisable.

Pros: affordable, good quality
Cons: cheap pads not advisable

My favorite autocross pad is Hawk HP+, but they dust like crazy and some sets are extremely squeaky for some reason. But they are mad consistent in all temps (except track where they fade at high speeds like any street pad) and the bite is absolutely fantastic and easy to modulate.

Pros: consistent, fantastic bite
Cons: dusty, squeaky

I've been using Hawk 5.0 They're marketed as a "high performance street" pad. I've done track days with them and theyve held up but they're "street" enough that they don't take forever to get warm. Maybe it's my lack of experience with other pads but they are kinda dusty.

Pros: held up well on track days
Cons: dusty

Akebono Brake pads

On any modern BMW model those pads make the pedal noticeably softer, to the point where it almost feels like air in the lines. I've swapped many sets out due to clients being unhappy with the feel. Works fine on older ones though.

Cons: soft pedal feel, air in lines

Akebono Brake pads

I hate akebono pads. They last a long time but feel like crap and don't stop the car nearly as well.

Pros: long lasting
Cons: poor stopping power, bad feel
Vehicle: BMW
